The short version

Lexicon does not sell personal information, track people across apps or websites, or send vocabulary activity to the developer. The app works without an account, advertising profile, analytics service, or remote vocabulary service.

Information stored by Lexicon

Lexicon stores saved and known words, mastery and practice history, difficulty and vocabulary preferences, browsing and widget state, notification preferences, and reading captures on your device. Reading captures may include words, passages, titles, and authors that you deliberately add.

This information lives in the app’s local container and shared app-group container so Lexicon’s extensions and widgets can use it. Lexicon does not transmit it to the developer. Device backups and platform services are controlled by Apple and your device settings.

Camera and text recognition

Camera access is requested only when you choose to scan a printed page. The image and recognized text are processed on the device with Apple’s text-recognition frameworks. Lexicon does not upload them to the developer.

Siri and Shortcuts

When you invoke a Lexicon Siri or Shortcuts action, Apple processes the request and Lexicon supplies the requested word or definition. Apple’s handling of Siri and dictation data is governed by Apple’s privacy practices and your device settings.

Notifications

Daily-word and review reminders are optional local notifications. Lexicon does not use a remote push-notification service.

Purchases

Subscription purchases are processed by Apple. Lexicon receives verified entitlement status but does not receive payment-card details. Apple’s App Store terms and privacy practices apply.

Lexicon includes links to cited sources and legal material. Opening one leaves Lexicon, and the destination’s privacy practices apply.

Data deletion

Deleting Lexicon removes its local app data from the device, subject to any device backups maintained by Apple. Lexicon has no developer-held account record to delete.
